Chronic pain is a long lasting phenomenon.
It happens year by year and it does not give you a break, does not allow you to rest and it does not make any pauses in your daily routine.
Chronic pain is also about painkillers, and still It is not only once when you can say ‘it hurts,’ but you continue repeating, saying it each day ‘it hurts, it hurts, and I am in pain”.
Do your beloved one, your partner, your child, your relative hear you? Or, are they tired of you saying day by day the same thing over and over again? How do you speak about your pain? Are you able to express your pain, to reflect upon your pain, or even to disassociate yourself from your pain? Or, are you feeling alone in your pain? What do you feel at the bottom of your heart? Loneliness? Shame? Anger? Despair? Anxiety? How open and how vulnerable are you in explaining and showing to others your pain? How often do you want to share what is deeply rooted in your daily pain experience? And, finally, how much do we need others when we are in pain?
